The WPA Women’s World 8-Ball Championship will take place at the Oneida Casino Hotel in Green Bay, Wisconsin for the second successive year from July 22-26, organised for the first time by the Women’s Professional Billiards Association.
Women’s world number one and defending champion Jasmin Ouschan will headline the 64-player lineup, which also includes reigning world 9-ball champion Seo Seoa and current world 10-ball champion Chezka Centeno.
Chou Chieh-Yu, Kelly Fisher and Rubilen Amit will be attempting to complete the women’s world championship trifecta, having already won the World 9-Ball Championship and the World 10-Ball Championship during their careers.
Kristina Tkach, Wei Tzu-Chien and Pia Filler are also amongst those who accepted invitations, as are Women’s US Open runner-up Savannah Easton, Margarita Fefilova, Kristina Zlateva, Chihiro Kawahara and Meng-Hsia Hung.
The tournament will be double elimination and race-to-seven racks until 16 players remain in the reckoning, when the format increases to race-to-eight racks. Sunday’s final will be race-to-nine racks.
