The Women’s World 10-Ball Championship returns for its ninth staging from July 31 through to August 6 as the world’s best female players compete for one of their most prestigious titles in Rome, Italy.
Chezka Centeno of the Philippines will be defending her prestigious title, a week on from becoming the women’s world 8-ball champion stateside, as she attempts to win the $55,000 accolade for a record-breaking third time.
Centeno will be amongst the six former winners, with 2009 and 2013 champion Rubilen Amit, Jasmin Ouschan, Kelly Fisher, Chou Chieh-Yu and 2024 winner Kristina Tkach set to compete.
World number one Pia Filler and reigning women’s world 9-ball champion Seo Seoa are the other headline names to have received invitations, while Chinese stars Han Yu, Siming Chen, Liu Shasha and Fu Xiaofang will also be involved.
Other notable names include recent Wei Tzu-Chien, Margarita Fefilova and Kristina Zlateva, as well as Japan’s Chihiro Kawahara, Wang Wan-Ling, Oliwia Zalewska, Meng-Hsia Hung and Chen Chia-Hua.
American teenage sensations Savannah Easton and Sofia Mast have travelled to the Eternal City – Easton fresh from her run to the World 8-Ball Championship semi-finals, while the Italian trio of Sara Iannini, Francesca Colucci, Gloria Truffa and Cristina Moscetti will represent their country on home turf.
The $200,000 tournament, which rewards $55,000 to the eventual champion, will feature 64 players and is double elimination during the early stages, with 16 players then progressing to the single elimination phase.
The double elimination phase will be best-of-three sets of race-to-four racks and the single elimination best-of-five sets. A shootout will determine the winner should the score be 3-3 in the deciding set.
Players must sink the 10 ball when it is the lowest-numbered ball and with a proper call in order to win each rack, and the ball will be re-spotted should it be potted earlier.
