The World 10-Ball Championship takes place in Vietnam for the second successive year as Ho Chi Minh City hosts 96 of the world’s best players in one of the most lucrative tournaments from September 19-16.
Despite 2025 champion Ko Ping-Chung opting against defending his title in Vietnam’s most populous city, four former world 10-ball champions will compete in two-time winner Eklent Kaci, Darren Appleton, Wojciech Szewczyk and Carlo Biado.
Shane van Boening, Albin Ouschan, Joshua Filler, Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and Ralf Souquet will each be attempting to seal an unprecedented three-peat in winning world titles in all three disciplines, having previously won the World 9-Ball Championship and the World 8-Ball Championship.
April’s world eight-ball champion Aloysius Yapp will be vying to seal his second world title of the season, attempting to win the title for the first time alongside the likes of Fedor Gorst, Jayson Shaw, Alex Kazakis and Johann Chua.
Hometown hero Duong Quoc Hoang returns to the tournament that witnessed him attract more than one million viewers for his last 16 match last year, competing alongside fellow Vietnamese stars Luong Duc Thien, Phuong Nam Pham and Nguyen Anh Tuan.
Other notable names to have received invitations include Moritz Neuhausen, David Alcaide and two-time runner-up Naoyuki Oi, as well as Robbie Capito, Kledio Kaci, Pijus Labutis, Oliver Szolnoki, Denis Grabe and Indonesian phenom Albert Januarta.
Former runner-up Cristopher Tevez has travelled alongside three Peruvians including Gerson Martinez, while Canada’s John Morra, Japan’s Hayato Hijikata, South Korea’s Ko Taeyoung, USA’s Skyler Woodward, Billy Thorpe and Tyler Styer and Iraq’s Ameer Ali also feature in a globe-spanning field.
The $300,000 tournament, which rewards $80,000 to the eventual champion, will feature 96 players and is double elimination during the early stages, with 32 players advancing to the single elimination phase.
The World 10-Ball Championship will be set-play for the third successive year, with the double elimination phase being best-of-three sets of race-to-four racks and the single elimination being best-of-five sets. A shootout will determine the winner should the score be 3-3 in the deciding set.
Free main table coverage and additional coverage of three tables will be broadcast throughout the duration of the tournament via the Billiard TV website and Pro Billiard TV on YouTube, while Box Billiards Vietnam will show matches via their YouTube channel.
