Chinese Taipei Open 2024: Draw, live scores, prize fund, format and how to watch

The Chinese Taipei Open will return for its third edition from December 16-18 at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei City, Taiwan, with 128 playing competing for $82,000 in prize money.

Following Johann Chua’s triumph at the inaugural Marboys Open in the Philippines on Saturday, the World Nineball Tour remains in Asia for the second event of a treble-header, with more ranking points towards next year’s Reyes Cup up for grabs.

Five of the top ten players on the world nineball rankings have entered the Taiwanese tournament, namely former world number one Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, David Alcaide, Ko Ping-Chung, Johann Chua and International Open champion Aloysius Yapp.

Wiktor Zielinski, Moritz Neuhausen and Jonas Souto Comino have travelled from Europe, while defending champion Carlo Biado, Vietnam’s Duong Quoc Hoang, Ko Pin-Yi and Robbie Capito are also amongst a strong field.

Other notable entrants include former runner-up Bernie Regalario, Jeffrey Ignacio, Jefrey Roda, Lee Van Corteza, Michael Feliciano, Kuo Po-Cheng, Edward Koyongian, Masato Yoshioka, James Aranas and Harry Vergara.

It will be double elimination until 64 players remain, with the format being race-to-nine and race-to-eight on the one-loss side. It will then be race-to-ten racks from the last 64 onwards, before the quarter-finals and semi-finals are race-to-11 and the final is an extended race-to-13.

Coverage will be broadcast live via the Matchroom Pool social media platforms, with selected matches throughout the duration as well as the semi-finals and final to be shown on their YouTube channel. It will also be shown on DAZN Taiwan.
