The 2023 Derby City Classic takes place from January 25-28 at the Caesars Southern Indiana resort and casino in Louisville, with hundreds of players battling it out at the prestigious tournament.

The second ranking tournament of the nineball season sees the likes of reigning world champion Shane van Boening competing, while defending champion Francisco Sanchez Ruiz has opted against travelling.

World Pool Masters champion Joshua Filler, recent Turning Stone Classic winner Jayson Shaw and Fedor Gorst are also amongst the favourites to secure the $16,000 top prize.

In addition, former world champions Mika Immonen, Alex Pagulayan and the legendary Efren Reyes will have intentions of rolling back the years.

Derby City uses the unique race to nine, single elimination with one buyback option format, with players able to rejoin the field for a fee following their opening defeat.

The draw is completely random and redone following every round, with the first round draw taking place after the players’ meeting at 12pm local time on Wednesday.

Coverage will be broadcast via Accu-Stats Video Productions throughout the duration for those with a PPV pass, while results can be followed via the Derby City Classic website.
