The World Pool Championship takes place from February 1-5 in Kielce, Poland, with 128 players competing for $325,000 in one of two blue ribbon tournaments on the nineball calendar.
Shane van Boening will be defending his prestigious accolade after beating Albin Ouschan in the final last time around, while US Open champion Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and UK Open winner Joshua Filler also headline the star-studded field.
Van Boening, Filler and Ouschan are amongst nine former champions competing in the 2023 edition, with Ko Pin-Yi, Thorsten Hohmann, Neils Feijen, Ralf Souquet, Alex Pagulayan and Mika Immonen also returning as past winners.
Fifth seed Mario He and sixth seed Jayson Shaw will be vying to secure long-awaited major successes, while Wiktor Zielinski and Mieszko Fortunski are the highest-ranked home hopes in Poland.
The tournament will be double elimination and race-to-nine until the single elimination phase, which involves 64 players as the format extends to race-to-eleven. Sunday’s final will be race-to-thirteen racks.
Coverage will be shown live via Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, DAZN in the USA and Canada and Viaplay in Poland, as well as other regional broadcasters throughout the five days.
In addition, tables two and three can be watched live via the Matchroom YouTube channels without commentary.
