The 32nd staging of the Mosconi Cup will be held from December 3-5 at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace as Europe vie to win a sixth straight title against the USA.
Europe have won 13 of their last 15 contests against the Americans, although they will have two rookies on their team for the first time since 2018 – when the USA famously beat them at Alexandra Palace.
Premier League champion Moritz Neuhausen and Hanoi Open winner Pijus Labutis qualified for Europe via the WNT rankings, joining captain Jayson Shaw as well as the experienced Joshua Filler and David Alcaide on the team.
Skyler Woodward’s USA will travel to the British capital with an unchanged team, with Woodward being accompanied by Fedor Gorst, Shane van Boening, Tyler Styer and Billy Thorpe.
Woodward, Van Boening, Styer and Thorpe were all on the American team when they stunned Europe away from home seven years ago, and they will be hoping history can repeat itself to seal just the USA’s third title since 2010.
The $300,000 event will begin in traditional fashion with the teams opener on Wednesday night, concluding with singles matches throughout the final day. A captain’s pick will determine the final match should it be a 10-10 tie.
All matches will be race-to-five racks, alternate break and be played in accordance with the World Nineball Tour rules, with the winning team receiving $40,000 per player.
Coverage will be shown via Sky Sports in the UK as well as via TV3 in Lithuania. WNT TV will air coverage in most territories, including the USA, Germany, Spain, Vietnam and the Philippines.
WNT TV will also broadcast a preview show from 5.45pm on each day, while the press conference will take place from 4pm on Tuesday, December 2 at the Alexandra Palace in London.
