The Women’s World 10-Ball Championship takes place from November 11-16 at the Centro de Convenciones in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with 48 players competing for $175,000 in prize money.
Hosted by the Predator Pro Billiard Series and sanctioned by the WPA, the sport’s top female players compete for the second-most prestigious accolade in the women’s game, with the eventual champion receiving $50,000.
Defending champion Chezka Centeno and women’s world number one Chou Chieh-Yu headline a star-studded field in Puerto Rico, which also includes former winners Kelly Fisher, Jasmin Ouschan and Rubilen Amit.
Amit could become only the second woman to hold the World 9-Ball Championship and the World 10-Ball Championship at the same time, but Han Yu, Wei Tzu-Chien and Chihiro Kawahara will also be amongst those attempting to reign victorious.
Kristina Tkach will continue her quest to become a world champion for the first time, as will the likes of Germany’s Pia Filler, Bulgaria’s Kristina Zlateva, South Korea’s Seo Seoa, Poland’s Oliwia Zalewska and Belarus-born Margarita Fefilova.
The $175,000 tournament is double elimination and best-of-three sets, race-to-four racks until 16 players remain, before becoming best-of-five sets from there onwards. Should the score be 3-3 in the deciding rack, a shootout on the 10-ball will determine the winner.
Free coverage on selected matches will be broadcast throughout the duration via the Pro Billiard TV YouTube channel, with the final taking place on Saturday, November 16.
