World Teams Championship 2023: Draw, live scores, teams, format, prize fund and how to watch

The World Teams Championship takes place from November 8-12 during the Predator Pro Billiard Series stop in Puerto Rico as 16 nations compete for $300,000 in prize money.

Each team must include a minimum of two men and one woman and a maximum of three men and two women, with only three players eligible to participate in each round of the unique tournament.

The Philippines will be defending their accolade following their comfortable victory over Great Britain in last year’s final, with Carlo Biado, Roland Garcia, Chezka Centeno and Rubilen Amit representing their country this time around.

Former champion Darren Appleton returns for Great Britain as Phil Burford steps up for his debut alongside stalwarts Kelly and Allison Fisher, while 2012 winners Chang Jung-Lin and Chou Chieh-Yu are amongst those representing the Taiwanese team.

Joshua Filler and his wife Pia welcome teenager Moritz Neuhausen into the German team, with other teams including Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and David Alcaide’s Spain, Wiktor Zielinski’s Poland and Albin Ouschan’s Austria.

All matches will be race-to-three sets, with those sets consisting of women’s singles and men’s singles in set one and two, followed by mixed doubles in set three and an additional singles match in set four if needed.

Should matches be all square at two apiece, a shootout on the 10 ball will determine which country prevails, with each team member shooting in an order decided amongst themselves.

The tournament begins with a group stage between Wednesday and Friday with four groups each including four teams. The top two teams in each group qualify for Saturday’s quarter-finals, with the semi-finals and final taking place on Sunday.

Free coverage will be broadcast throughout the duration of the tournament via the Billiard TV website and World Billiard TV on YouTube.
