The FSR91 Nineball Open takes place from March 28-30 at the Auditorio Pazo de Congresos Mar de Vigo in Galicia, Spain, acting as the latest ranking event on the World Nineball Tour.

Located two hours north of Lugo, the home of the Spanish Open Pool Championship, Vigo will host a WNT ranking tournament for the first time, with Spain’s world number one Francisco Sanchez Ruiz headlining the field.

Sanchez Ruiz will be joined by fellow Premier League stars David Alcaide and Mario He in his home country, while former US Open runner-up Max Lechner and World Championship runner-up Mohammad Soufi will also feature.

In addition, Spain’s Jonas Souto Comino, Germany’s Ralf Souquet, Italy’s Francesco Candela, Portugal’s Joao Grilo, the USA’s Oscar Dominguez and Finnish teenager Riku Rompannen are amongst the WNT professionals who have entered.

Spain’s Manuel Montejo Fernandez, who defeated Anton Raga at last year’s US Open, headlines the amateur entrants alongside Britain’s Tom Staveley.

Wojciech Szewczyk won the inaugural edition of the event twelve months ago in Zaragoza, beating Aleksa Pecelj in the final, but the Pole has opted not to enter this time around.

The 64-player tournament will be double elimination and race-to-nine, winner breaks until the last 16, with the format then increasing to race-to-10 followed by the race-to-13 final. Coverage will be broadcast on the PRP Billiards Facebook page.
