Jayson Shaw was stopped by security after confronting a heckler in the Alexandra Palace audience as the Mosconi Cup got underway in London.
Shaw, who is making his tenth Mosconi Cup appearance this year, defeated USA captain Skyler Woodard during Europe’s dominant opening day as his side took an early 4-0 lead.
However, the European skipper was seen seething with an irritable member of the crowd during the early exchanges of his singles win, pointing them out with his cue.
Shaw is renowned for being a showman, working the Alexandra Palace crowd and teasing the American fans, although this heckler appeared to overstep the mark.
Shaw was filmed charging towards the member of the crowd, only to be stopped by security as well as world number one Fedor Gorst, and even after walking away from the incident, he was visibly fuming.
