The 2025 EPBF European 9-Ball Championships take place from April 6-8 as the Kalevi Hall in Tallinn, Estonia hosts the 40th staging of the prestigious event.
Austria’s Mario He and Germany’s Pia Filler will be the men’s and women’s defending champions, having beaten Luca Menn and Oliwia Zalewska in last year’s respective finals.
Filler could win the title for a third consecutive year and become only the third woman to do so, following in the footsteps of four-time winner Franziska Stark and record eight-time champion Jasmin Ouschan.
Former champions Wojciech Szewczyk and Konrad Juszczyszyn are amongst the 103 entries for the men’s competition, as well as the likes of Sanjin Pehlivanovic, Albin Ouschan and Denis Grabe, the latter of who competes on home soil.
Other notable entrants include Germany’s Tobias Bongers and Stefan Kasper, Poland’s Mieszko Fortunski and Daniel Maciol, Portugal’s Joao Grilo, Austria’s Max Lechner and Serbia’s Aleksa Pecelj.
Amongst the stand-out names in the women’s competition are eight-time winner Ouschan, newly-crowned European 10-ball champion Alara Ghaffari, Bulgaria’s Kristina Zlateva, Germany’s Ina Kaplan and Slovenia’s Ana Gradisnik.
The men’s and women’s competitions will be race-to-nine and race-to-seven racks throughout the duration respectively, while the single elimination phases will involve 64 men and 32 women respectively.
Coverage will be broadcast via the Pro Billiard TV channel on YouTube, with the men’s and women’s semi-finals and final taking place on Tuesday, April 8 in Estonia.
There’s no prize money on offer as players are competing for the respective gold, silver and bronze European Championship medals and are often backed by their national federations to attend.
