China plays host to the season’s concluding World Nineball Tour ranking event as the second staging of the Zen&Yuan8 Open takes place from December 20-23 at the Yuan 8 Billiards Club in Shanghai.
Following the success of Johann Chua at the first staging of the tournament back in September, numerous stars of Asian pool return to China with further ranking points up for grabs.
Whoever reigns victorious will receive $15,000 and potentially a huge boost in the race towards next year’s Reyes Cup, with world number four Ko Ping-Chung and world number five Aloysius Yapp amongst those involved.
Other notable entrants include recent Chinese Taipei Open champion Jefrey Roda, Ko Pin-Yi, Carlo Biado, Wiktor Zielinski, UK Open winner Robbie Capito, Duong Quoc Hoang and Chang Jung-Lin.
It will be double elimination until 32 players remain, with the format being race-to-nine and race-to-eight on the one-loss side. It will then be race-to-ten racks from the last 64 onwards, before the quarter-finals and semi-finals are race-to-11 and the final is an extended race-to-13.
Coverage will be broadcast on the Matchroom Pool YouTube channel for the duration of the four days, with the semi-finals and final taking place on Monday, December 23.
