The Puerto Rico 10-Ball Open will take place from November 11-15 at the Centro de Convenciones in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with 64 players competing for $64,000 in prize money.
Hosted by the Predator Pro Billiard Series and held alongside the lucrative Women’s World 10-Ball Championship, the tournament will not be WPA-sanctioned and some of the world’s elite will therefore compete in Puerto Rico.
Reigning world champions Fedor Gorst, Joshua Filler and 2022 winner Carlo Biado are all amongst the field, which also involves Wiktor Zielinski, Albin Ouschan and WPA number one Alexander Kazakis.
Defending champion Konrad Juszczyszyn has opted against travelling to the Puerto Rico capital, although the lineup does include Robbie Capito, Denis Grabe, Vitaliy Patsura, Mika Immonen, Wu Kun-Lin and Aloysius Yapp.
Puerto Rican legend Alan Rolon Rosado leads the home hopes, while Central and South American entrants include Venezuela’s Jesus Atencio, Peru’s Gerson Martinez Boza and Dominican Republic’s Jose Ramon Diaz.
The $64,000 tournament is double elimination and best-of-three sets, race-to-four racks until 16 players remain, before becoming best-of-five sets from there onwards. Should the score be 3-3 in the deciding rack, a shootout on the 10-ball will determine the winner.
Free coverage on selected matches will be broadcast throughout the duration via the Pro Billiard TV YouTube channel, with the final taking place on Friday, November 15.
