The inaugural Marina Open takes place at the Marina Pool Club in Modena from April 5-7 and becomes the first ever World Nineball Tour ranking event to be held in Italy.
A strong field will assemble in the stunning Italian city, most renowned for being the current or former headquarters of sports car giants Ferrari and Lamborghini, for the second European WNT ranking event of the year.
Albin Ouschan headlines the field as the only member of the world’s top ten, while three-time ranking event winner Wiktor Zielinski, Derby City Classic runner-up Pijus Labutis and World Championship runner-up Mohammad Soufi have also entered.
In addition, UK Open champion Eklent Kaci continues his return from injury, while Niels Feijen, Ralf Souquet, Max Lechner, Sanjin Pehlivanovic, Oliver Szolnoki and Konrad Juszczyszyn are amongst the other notable names.
Italian number one Francesco Candela, based in Naples, will be amongst the home favourites competing, while Elliott Sanderson and Tom Staveley lead the British contingent who have travelled.
The tournament will be double elimination until the last 32 and race-to-nine, alternate break until the final, which will be race-to-eleven racks, while selected matches will be broadcast on the Billiard Network YouTube channel.
