The World Nineball Tour returns to the Scottish capital this weekend as the 2023 Jacoby 9-Ball Open takes place from July 21-23 in Glasgow.
Following the success of their inaugural Scottish Open two months ago, won by Jayson Shaw on home soil, the McGoldrick’s Pool and Sports Bar have been rewarded with a second nineball ranking tournament.
Top seed David Alcaide, the current world number 29, headlines the 96-player field, which also involves former Mosconi Cup representative Imran Majid and Swiss star Dimitri Jungo.
Elliott Sanderson leads a strong British contingent alongside Chris Alexander, Benji Buckley, Marcel Price and Phillip Wildman, who notably defeated Albin Ouschan at the UK Open Pool Championship.
The tournament will be contested over a race-to-eight format throughout the duration, with double elimination in play until the final 16, where there will then be a redraw and subsequently single elimination.
Coverage will be broadcast via the Scottish Cuesports Live Streaming channel on YouTube, and the eventual champion will receive £4,000 in prize money and ranking points.
