The eighth annual Midwest Billiards and Cue Expo Championship takes place from July 14-16 at the Big Dog Billiards venue in Des Moines, Iowa.

A number of American players will be battling it out for ranking points towards Mosconi Cup qualification, with the tournament being part of the World Nineball Tour.

Recent Spanish Open Pool Championship semi-finalist Skyler Woodward, five-time US Open champion Shane van Boening, Tyler Styer and Shane Wolford are the leading American names involved.

Meanwhile, defending champion Fedor Gorst returns for the 2023 edition and will undoubtedly be favourite this time around, having beaten Woodward in last year’s final.

Bob Stocks Memorial winner BJ Ussery, Lukas Fracasso-Verner and Nicholas De Leon are also involved, as are former World Championship runner-up Roberto Gomez and Ukraine’s Vitaliy Patsura.

The event is double elimination throughout, with race-to-nine racks being contested on the winners’ side and race-to-seven racks in the one-loss section of the draw.

PPV coverage is available via the Pool Action TV platform throughout the tournament, with Matchroom pundit Jeremy Jones and Scott Frost providing expert commentary.
