The 31st staging of the Women’s World 9-Ball Championship takes place from December 18-21 in Jacksonville, Florida as 64 players attempt to land the most prestigious title in the women’s game.

Defending champion Rubilen Amit will be vying to follow in the footsteps of Allison Fisher, Liu Shasha, Kim Ga-Young and Robin Bell in winning back-to-back titles, with the eventual champion receiving a lucrative $50,000 cheque.

Top seed Kristina Tkach, newly-minted world number one Jasmin Ouschan and reigning world 10-ball champion Chezka Centeno will be amongst the strong title favourites, with Ouschan aiming to become the first male or female player to become a world champion in all three disciplines.

Allison and Kelly Fisher, who have won the esteemed accolade on six occasions between them, are also amongst the top names involved, as are three-time champions Han Yu and Liu Shasha and 2023 winner Chou Chieh-Yu.

Other notable players involved include South Korean star Seo Seoa, Germany’s Pia Filler, Bulgaria’s Kristina Zlateva and China Open champion Chihiro Kawahara, as well as Margarita Fefilova, world number two Wei Tzu-Chien and 2010 winner Fu Xiaofang.

American teenagers Sofia Mast and Savannah Easton headline a strong contingent of young prodigies, which also features Taiwanese talent Hong Xin-Yu – a two-time world girls champion.

The controversial sets format continues for 2025 and sees the double elimination phase contested over best-of-three sets and the single elimination best-of-five sets. A shootout will determine the winner should the score be 3-3 in the deciding set.

Free coverage will be broadcast throughout the duration of the tournament via Billiard TV and Pro Billiard TV on YouTube.
