The Women’s Spanish International Open takes place from November 25-28 in Gandia, Spain as some of the world’s elite female players compete for a $75,000 prize fund in the 10-ball event.
Whoever reigns victorious in the Valencia region will receive the $22,500 champion’s cheque, this year’s biggest prize for a women’s event held in Europe by a considerable distance.
Women’s world number two Jasmin Ouschan headlines the 64-player field alongside the likes of multiple-time world champion Kelly Fisher, Saigon Open winner Wei Tzu-Chien and former world number one Chou Chieh-Yu.
Other notable entrants include World 10-Ball Championship runner-up Seo Seoa, Germany’s Pia Filler, Bulgaria’s Kristina Zlateva, China’s Liu Shasha and Han Yu and Spain’s Mayte Ropero – who will compete in her home country.
American teenagers Sofia Mast and Savannah Easton have both travelled across the pond, with the tournament being held at the same venue as the upcoming World Junior Championships.
It will be double elimination until 16 players remain and best-of-three sets of race-to-four racks throughout the duration. A shootout will determine the winner should the score be 3-3 in the deciding set.
