The US International Open returns from November 19-23 at the Renaissance Resort in St Augustine, Florida, as Aloysius Yapp sets his sights on a third consecutive crown in the sunshine state.
Pat Fleming’s International Open is one of the richest tournaments on the World Nineball Tour calendar, behind only the World Championship and US Open Championship in terms of its $40,000 champion’s cheque.
Defending champion Yapp, who defeated Moritz Neuhausen in last year’s final, headlines the field alongside the likes of world number one Fedor Gorst and reigning world champion Carlo Biado.
Shane van Boening and Francisco Sanchez Ruiz will be amongst the title favourites in Florida, while Jonas Souto Comino and Wiktor Zielinski are also top 16 players to have entered the $171,000 event.
Team USA will be using the tournament as preparation for the upcoming Mosconi Cup, with captain Skyler Woodward, Van Boening, Gorst, Tyler Styer and Billy Thorpe all involved before travelling to British shores.
Other notable entrants include former world champions Ralf Souquet and Thorsten Hohmann, Alex Kazakis, Robbie Capito, Mickey Krause and Naoyuki Oi, as well as Mario He, Jesus Atencio, Denis Grabe, Lee Van Corteza and Philippines Open runner-up Arseni Sevastyanov.
The tournament will be double elimination until 16 players remain and race-to-10 up to the final, which will be race-to-13 racks. It will be alternate break throughout and the break box will be in operation.
Selected matches will be broadcast via the Accu-Stats Video Productions YouTube channel, including Sunday’s final, while full coverage from every table will be available to those with an active Accu-Stats subscription plan.
