World 8-Ball Championship 2025: Draw, live scores, format, prize fund and how to watch

The 2025 World 8-Ball Championship takes place from October 9-13 as Bali, Indonesia hosts the tournament for the first time.

Joshua Filler will be defending his title, having beaten Hsu Jui-An in last year’s final in New Zealand, and he joins Shane van Boening and Ralf Souquet as the only three returning winners for this year’s event.

Other notable players involved include two-time world 10-ball champion Eklent Kaci, WPA number one Alex Kazakis, Albin Ouschan, Denis Grabe and Kledio Kaci, as well as 2024 semi-finalists Wu Kun-Lin and Marco Teutscher.

Poland will be strongly represented as usual by the likes of Wojciech Szewczyk, Daniel Maciol, Mieszko Fortunski and Konrad Juszczyszyn, while Indonesian youngster Derin Asaku Sitorus leads the host nation’s hopes.

Iraqi talent Ameer Ali will make his debut in a major international tournament outside of the Middle East, having been unable to attain a visa for last month’s World 10-Ball Championship in Vietnam.

Despite a strong field having assembled in Bali, numerous players have instead travelled to Vietnam for the World Nineball Tour’s Hanoi Open Championship, including Fedor Gorst, Carlo Biado and Aloysius Yapp.

The tournament will feature 96 players in the double elimination phase which will be race-to-eight, with 32 players qualifying for the single elimination phase as the format increases to race-to-ten racks.

Free coverage of two tables will be broadcast throughout the duration of the tournament via via the Billiard TV websitePro Billiard TV on YouTube and Box Billiards Vietnam on YouTube.
