American teenager Savannah Easton is amongst the lineup for next week’s third staging of the Jayson Shaw Junior Open, held during the UK Open Pool Championship in Telford, England.
Girls World 10-Ball Championship runner-up Easton, who is regarded as one of the best young female talents in the world, has previously competed in the SVB Junior Open in her home country but she is now set to make her World Nineball Tour return in the UK.
The 15-year-old from Las Vegas will be amongst the likes of two-time and defending champion Maks Benko of Slovenia, Germany’s Felix Vogel and Pius Baier and Greece’s Georgios Xenopanagos in the event.
The event for players aged 17 and under is part of at least five junior tournaments on this year’s WNT calendar, with this event being race-to-seven until the race-to-nine finals and the eventual champion receiving $2,500 in prize money.
Sweden’s Walter Laikre won the Bosnia Junior Open in March, overcoming Ukraine’s Ivan Rudenko in the final, but he has opted against travelling to the UK.
