The prestigious US International Open takes place from November 18-22 at its new home in the stunning Renaissance Resort in St Augustine, Florida as 128 players compete for $171,000 in prize money.
Now awarding a lucrative $40,000 to the eventual champion, the International Open becomes the third-richest ranking tournament on the World Nineball Tour, behind only the World Pool Championship and the US Open Championship.
Defending champion Aloysius Yapp, who defeated David Alcaide in last year’s final, headlines a star-studded field of international stars, which also includes world number one Fedor Gorst, Joshua Filler and Shane van Boening.
All of this year’s Mosconi Cup stars have travelled to St Augustine, with Europe’s Jayson Shaw, Mickey Krause, Eklent Kaci, David Alcaide and Francisco Sanchez Ruiz there, as well as the USA’s Van Boening, Gorst, Skyler Woodward, Billy Thorpe and Tyler Styer.
US Open quarter-finalist Vitaliy Patsura has entered fresh from his success in Puerto Rico, while Carlo Biado, 2021 champion Albin Ouschan, UK Open winner Robbie Capito, Pijus Labutis, Niels Feijen and Wiktor Zielinski have also travelled.
Other notable entrants include Sanjin Pehlivanovic, Mario He, Alexander Kazakis, Denis Grabe, Moritz Neuhausen, Naoyuki Oi, Dimitris Loukatos, Max Lechner and Seattle Open winner Georgi Georgiev.
The tournament will be double elimination until 16 players remain and race-to-10 up to the final, which will be race-to-13 racks. It will be alternate break throughout and the break box will be in operation.
Coverage will be broadcast throughout the event for those with an active Accu-Stats subscription plan. Every match from every table will be shown, which includes Saturday’s semi-finals and final.
