The World Nineball Tour heads to Africa for the first time in its history this week as the Morocco Open takes place from November 6-10 at the Kenzi Solazur Hotel in Tangier.
Following the first ever WNT ranking events in Asia, Australia and South American over the last 12 months, the tour breaks new ground once again as the Morocco Open returns to the pool calendar.
Former world number one Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and his Mosconi Cup teammate David Alcaide will be amongst those involved in Tangier, as will their Spaniard compatriots Jonas Souto Comino and Salvador Garcia.
In addition, former world champion Niels Feijen has travelled to Morocco, while Elliott Sanderson, Imran Majid and Estonian teenager Karl Gnadeberg are also amongst the notable names.
Morocco’s predominant hopes of home success will lie in the hands of their 2022 World Cup of Pool representative in My Cherif Zine el Abidine.
The tournament will feature 96 players and is single elimination from the last 16. It will be race-to-eleven throughout but matches on the losers’ side will be race-to-eight racks.
Coverage will be broadcast on the Morocco Open Championship Facebook page across the four days, with the semi-finals and final taking place on Sunday.
