The Rasson Lushan Open takes place from July 26-28 at the Rasson Event Center in Jiujiang City as the first ever World Nineball Tour ranking tournament held in China sees 96 players compete.
Crucial ranking points towards the inaugural Reyes Cup will be up for grabs in China, with Dang Jinhu headlining the field on home soil, a year on from his finest hour when winning the Spanish Open Championship.
Brothers Ko Ping-Chung and Ko Pin-Yi are also amongst those in contention for the $15,000 top prize, and the star-studded field also includes Poland’s Wiktor Zielinski and Singapore’s Aloysius Yapp.
Carlo Biado, recent World Pool Championship semi-finalist Johann Chua, Jeffrey Ignacio and James Aranas will be amongst a strong Filipino contingent.
In addition, world champions Han Yu and Fu Xiaofang are amongst the notable entrants, as are Germany’s Moritz Neuhausen, Vietnam’s Nguyen Anh Tuan and Taiwan’s Kuo Po-Cheng, Liu Ri-Teng and Chang Yu-Lung.
The tournament will be double elimination until 32 players remain in contention and race-to-nine on the winners side and race-to-eight on the one-loss side. The format will increase to race-to-10 from the last 32 onwards until the race-to-11 semi-finals and race-to-13 final.
Coverage will be broadcast on the Matchroom Pool YouTube channel throughout the weekend, with the eventual champion receiving $15,000 and perhaps strengthening their Reyes Cup qualification hopes.
