The World Pool Masters heads to Halle 39 in Hildesheim, Germany from April 25-28 as the elite players on the World Nineball Tour compete in the game’s premier invitational tournament.
Our nineball pool writer Ben Hudd provides his best bets and analysis ahead of the 30th edition of the tournament, and favours Joshua Filler to taste success on home soil.
World Pool Masters 2024 betting tips
- Joshua Filler to win the World Pool Masters – 11/2 Bet365
- Albin Ouschan to win the World Pool Masters – 12/1 E/W Ladbrokes
- Ko Pin-Yi, Albin Ouschan, Jayson Shaw and Ko Ping-Chung to win their first round matches – 8/1 Bet365

Shane van Boening has been installed as a 5/1 favourite with leading bookmakers following on from his Premier League Pool success last month, and that’s no surprise when considering the two-time champion’s incredible Masters record.
Nevertheless, Joshua Filler is always a force to be reckoned with and often the man to beat in any tournament that he chooses to participate in, and perhaps the value in the outright market lies in favour of the 11/2 second-favourite who will be competing on home soil.
Filler will be making his sixth Masters appearance, having initially featured in 2017. Despite having been beaten in the first round on three occasions, the German number one was champion crowned two years ago and was also a semi-finalist a year beforehand.
Bearing in mind his unsuccessful attempts at winning either of the first two editions of the European Open in Fulda, Filler will be desperate to add a major accolade on home soil to his resume and the Masters is an event that suits his game considerably well.
Another stand-out contender for Masters success is a two-time world champion in Albin Ouschan, who is one of the most successful players in the World Nineball Tour era despite the Masters evading him.
Ouschan initially struggled in adapting to the revolutionised Matchroom breaking format, notably being beaten 9-7 by eventual runner-up Eklent Kaci in round one of last year’s Masters, but the Austrian’s run to October’s Hanoi Open final was an overly promising one.
Ouschan faces Max Lechner in the opening round and will be a sizeable favourite to overcome his countryman, while Jayson Shaw and Ko Pin-Yi will also be highly fancied to see off Aloysius Yapp and David Alcaide respectively.
Backing an accumulator of Ouschan, Shaw and Ko Pin-Yi to win their opening round matches as well as the ever impressive Ko Ping-Chung to beat Wiktor Zielinski could be a profitable one.
