The World 10-Ball Championship takes place from February 27 to March 2 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, with the 64 of the world’s best players competing for the prestigious accolade.
Eklent Kaci enters the tournament as defending champion, having won two of the last three editions of the tournament and ended Francisco Sanchez Ruiz’s hopes of an historic world championship three-peat twelve months ago.
Sanchez Ruiz, Joshua Filler, Fedor Gorst and Jayson Shaw are amongst the headline names, while the legendary Shane van Boening will be attempting to add the World 10-Ball to his incredible honours haul.
Brothers and former champions Ko Pin-Yi and Ko Ping-Chung will be eyeing further success, having won the event in 2015 and 2016 respectively, while 2022 winner Wojciech Szewczyk returns to the scene of his finest hour.
The $250,000 tournament, which rewards $75,000 to the eventual champion, will feature a reduced 64 players and is double elimination during the early stages, with 16 players advancing to the redrawn single elimination phase.
A format change for 2024 sees the double elimination phase become best-of-three sets and the single elimination best-of-five sets in a similar format to the Predator Pro Billiard Series. A shootout will determine the winner should the score be 3-3 in the deciding set.
Free coverage will be broadcast throughout the duration of the tournament via the Billiard TV website and Pro Billiard TV on YouTube, with the semi-finals and final held on Saturday evening local time.
