The inaugural staging of the PBS Women’s Showdown takes place from February 27 to March 1 in Las Vegas, with the world’s elite female players competing for $100,000 in prize money.
Reigning world champion Chou Chieh-Yu headlines the field for the lucrative 9-ball tournament alongside the additional seven women inside the world’s top eight on the WPA rankings.
Chezka Centeno, the newly-crowned Women’s Las Vegas Open champion, also features, as does Kelly Fisher, Allison Fisher, Kristina Zlateva, Jasmin Ouschan, Hung Meng-Hsia and Chen Chia-Hua.
China Open champion Han Yu was amongst the star-studded invitations, with fellow Asian stars Siming Chen, Seo Seoa, Wei Tzu-Chien and Yuki Hiraguchi also being selected as wildcards.
In addition, Pia Filler, Kristina Tkach and Margarita Fefilova, all of who are European champions, were rewarded with wildcards based on their achievements in women’s Pro Billiard Series events.
The Women’s Showdown will follow the Predator Pro Billiard Series format as three sets of race-to-four are contested. Should the third set be level at 3-3, a shootout on the nine ball will be used to determine the winner.
Free coverage will be broadcast throughout the duration of the tournament via the Billiard TV website and Pro Billiard TV on YouTube, with the semi-finals and final held on Saturday evening local time.
