Eklent Kaci returns for Hanoi Open two months after serious car accident

Eklent Kaci will return to the table for the upcoming Hanoi Open Pool Championship in Vietnam, less than three months on from a serious off-road car crash in the Albanian mountains.

UK Open champion Kaci, who defeated Joshua Filler to seal his maiden World Nineball Tour major accolade earlier this year, was one of the most in-form players in the world prior to his freak accident.

Kaci therefore placed himself in contention for a Mosconi Cup return via the European qualification table, before subsequently missing the European Open and the prestigious US Open whilst recovering.

Also a runner-up at May’s World Pool Masters, Kaci needed multiple operations on his bridge hand after suffering muscle damage and several torn tendons when drifting and causing his vehicle to overturn.

Kaci was eager to return to competitive action, with him being filmed practising one-handed back home in Tirana weeks after his surgery, and his time will arrive next week as 256 players compete in Vietnam.
